The Southern Comfort Project hopes to assist with the overwhelming job of clean-up and rebuilding faced by many families
in the Katrina/Rita Hurricane devastated areas of Louisiana and Mississippi.
Southern Comfort is working
through churches or various denominations and other community agencies to identify families in need of assistance and to support
their efforts in these storm ravaged areas.
The project is sponsored by St Joseph the Worker Parish in Liverpool,
NY with financial support from Catholic Charities USA and in partnership with Belle Chasse Church of Christ, Belle Chasse
LA; Gateway United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), Gulfport, MI; Inter-American Redevelopment
Corporation, St Bernard Project and Knights of Columbus, Chalmette, LA.
The the acts of selflessness
performed by Operation Southern Comfort volunteers continues to have a profound impact on the lives of the people
and communities they've served as well as their own.
