ICE4SAFETY.COM
and the Federal Safety Agency OSHA, along with a number of Public Safety, EMS, Education, Business
and Insurance Industry Groups have agreed to formalize an Alliance to introduce ICE
into workplace safety as a component of Emergency
Action Planning for General Industry and Construction as defined by 29 CFR 1910.38(a) and 29 CFR 1926.35
The use of the ICE
Image and safety related tools will be redesigned for use by employers and employees to enhance workplace
safety awareness and by making preparation and implementation of Emergency Action Plans more intuitive, practical
and easier to accomplish.
Update - April
2009 - OSHA Challenge Program Participation seems to be the path where ICE will debut. OSHA woefully slow as everyone
knows so we didn't wait and have companies now already using ICE Tools regardless.
The goal of this collaborative effort is
for participating entities to provide input about and assist OSHA in development, promotion and introduction of
these changes into the workplace.
OSHA will be provided with a "tool box" to
integrate ICE into the General Industry and Construction
safety training curriculum and as a part of their website e-tools to maximize the effectiveness of currently existing
training and support documentation available from the agency.
The project is moving along at
a steady pace on both sides with selected employers adopting elements of the Alliance efforts to date
as a component of their safety policies and practices. The response has been overwhelmingly POSITIVE!

environment to improve worker safety.
