ICE-QR©

ICE-QR© is another way to store (redundant) critical information in a highly compressed format. QR 2D BarCode can be read by millions of smart phones, commercial bar code scanners and those used by law enforcement and hospitals.

From a practical standpoint since many people (including medics and rescue crews) have smart phones like Droids and IPhones that can read/write QR Codes plus transmit them easily, we would think that people would avail themselves of this popular and useful feature – especially if it is free.

ICE4SAFETY doesn’t record any information on ICE QR© so feel free to create a suitable backup QR or use it to generate posters and ICE promotional messages across your region.

Many commercial and volunteer service providers may have established a financial interest in selling web based subscription services that might contractually restrict them from actively promoting other more community based concepts that the majority of people will use.   Why rely on any system that only a handful of people are aware of and trained to use when a more widely accepted, free and simple concept is readily available?

ICE and ICE-QR© requires no special training……

ICE QR© has several optional formats from which you may choose to generate additional emergency information such as: website address, SMS phone number, phone text, and email.

The more text information you supply the more compact (dense) the code is - to read dense codes you would need a 2D high density code reader like those used in hospital, law enforcement and smart phones.

You can create then print out a ICE QR© Code Label and place on an existing ICE Card or one of the new ICE QR© Cards seen here.  You can use Avery Labels to do that.

Most importantly, choosing the ”Text” option, you may enter a considerable amount of pertinent personal and medical information about yourself in order of importance to act as back up to the information on your ICE Card, Smart-ICE and the new revised Emergency ICE QR form below.

We suggest you place the term “ICE – In Case of Emergency” in the top header portion and “Emergency Information HERE” in the bottom section.  Mouse over the forms below to open:

Open and complete one of these forms above and create up to 3 QR Codes with emergency information and embed them into your document…..simple & effective.  Print and carry with you.  We suggest you use the header and footer feature on the QR Code Generator to alert First Responders to the nature of the Information located in the QR Code.  Keep the information simple – easy to understand and brief as possible.  If the code won’t generate – you have added too much info.
